Almost 2 weeks since I left Edinburgh,
& I am FINALLY sitting down to blog about it=P
Out of the all the places (so far), Edinburgh is my favourite.
Just the architecture of the old buildings can wow me away.
Spectacularly magnificent.p.s. Beware of the photos OVER-load.
We stayed over in Edinburgh Airport for the 1st night. Thought we could have our own little private “room”, but got chased away when the cleaner came along...So we had to move=(
Such a welcoming sight as we took our first step outdoors in Edinburgh<3
Bus 100 brought us all the way somewhere near our hostel..We had to climb a long-slope & walk abit more..But the bus comes really frequently, & the journey is relatively short!!=)
Brodies 2: Our hostel in Edinburgh, not that wonderful (especially right after our experience in Abigail’s-Dublin), but still live-able…Just an issue or 2 with the noisy neighbours in the room-next-door..But I was too tired to even bother, & KO-ed=P
Our 10 bedder shared-room..Alrights ONE plus point compared to Abigail’s, the carpets didn’t stink!!
Tron Kirk~ one of the 1st buildings that caught my eye=)
9 plus on a beautiful Sunday morning, the cabs wait patiently.
Random clock tower we saw as we roamed around..I like how clocks (towers/buildings) are so conveniently located around..What’s the time? No fuss.
Mary King’s Close..Just along Royal Mile..
A part of St. Giles’ Cathedral. Also my favourite picture<3
The west-side entrance to the cathedral..A beautiful cathedral indeed.
The old Scottish Parliament..
Versus the NEW one..See the difference? HAHA
King Charles II..really entertaining story that statue carries..want to know? ASK ME!!! Haha..P.S. I will choose that BMW over that statue ANYTIME.
Heart of Midlothian~ The locals spit on it when they walk pass (even till now) for luck. It’s a tradition (?!)..
We were really lucky to have such fabulous weather on the ONE day we were there..It pours a lot apparently=..So happiness for us!!!=D
MEET MY NEW FRIEND!
Quotes carved onto the tiles just around the Writers’ Museum..One of the few that caught my eyes..
Blue Blue sky!!! Clear skies are the best!!
“TRIP” STAIRS, Their very first “burglar alarm”..The stairs narrows as it moves up..so the supposedly-ignorant burglars will trip and tumble down the stairs, waking the whole house up..thus getting caught!
One of my favourite building, The Hub. It used to be a cathedral, but they have since changed it & now its Edinburgh’s Festival Centre..So not like it right?haha
Traditional busker..
Apparently where JK Rowling got her inspiration for Hogwarts & Harry Potter..Cannot really tell from here, but it sure look somewhat like it there=)
And this is where she sat & pen her 1st 2 books of the Harry Potter series..
Some knick-knacks in a very funky store along Grassmarket Street..
And this is the cool-to-the-max vintage store=D
This is the famous dog that stayed by his owner’s grave for a good 14YEARS before passing on himself..Now tell me, why are dogs humans’ best friends?
Oh-so-EMO!!Im sure..
Seth~ Our very very entertaining& interesting tour guide=D Absolutely fantastic..Thank You so much..Just made me love Edinburgh more..& the best thing, he is not even Scottish himself!
Supposedly the best photo-view of the Edinburgh Castle..So you can see that it actually sits on top of a volcano (an extinct one that is).
Playing the old-school-scissors;paper;stone up the Playfair Stairs..Should have seen the stares we attracted..HAHA..but it was great fun=)
Looking down Royal Mile as the sun sets..
Look how gorgeous the buildings look when they light up at night=D
Some random door that caught my attention too many a time..Every single time I walked pass, I will turn to look at it, for some reason I don’t know.
Their very own local soft drink that top Coca-Cola on the charts in Edinburgh!! Tried it, I am not the biggest fan of gassy drinks, so I was not swept off my feet or something..BUT I definitely prefer this to Coke, anytime.
At the foot of Arthur’s Seat
Along the way..
View of the city, when we still somewhere near the bottom of the hill..
Pretty flower/weed along the way..
The climb was really not that leisure..maybe we took the longer & more difficult way up..But according to our (a few) sources, it’s supposed to be a (about) 30minutes climb..Sheesh we definitely took longer than that..
Now..somewhere nearer the top!!!
I WAS THERE!=D
Arthur shared his seat with me=)
View from the top is always better..
Doing yoga atop Arthur’s Seat?
What better place to take a group picture? Especially after such a great morning workout!=P
On the way down..we STILL need a rest=D
Now into Edinburgh Castle..This is my ticket into the castle!! P.S. take note of the picture on the ticket!!
On Argyle Battery..Definitely not the best location to be when there is a war=P
Does that picture above me looks familiar?! Yes, it’s the one on my ticket..I actually manage to find it in the huge castle..This is the birthplace of the king=)
Huge cannonballs..fake concrete ones..so people like me won’t accidentally fire them off..haha
Okay..this position is a way worse!!!! Kids reading this, please do not learn!!
Yes, we are attracted to musically-inclined dudes=D
