I figured its high time for me clear the backlogged updates.
Just editing photos & uploading them here is tiring enough.
But Im a sukker for photo-overloaded entries.
Makes readers less bored (I hope).
Makes me happy when I read back.
Pictures speak a 1000-words (or more)
So I still do it.=)
Warning: Photos dated all the way from since pre-London=P

"For-my-mum" Party
All homedorm-cooked food!!
Wanton + Vegetable Soup ~Nat & Yuejia
Noodles ~ Bao Xian
Ngoh Hiang ~ Wanling
Lemon Chicken + Chocolate Mousse Cake ~ Me
Yeah we had a romantic dinner in my room!!!haha
I am superficial, so even my plate of lemon chicken has to be nicely decorated=)
Decided to make a cake for my mum's birthday..Chocolate Mousse Cake with Digestive Biscuit Base..A tad different from the image I had in mind..BUT it was still scrumptuous nontheless..5 of us FINISHED the ENTIRE cake!!=D
"I hate carrots" is an UNDERstatement..But I love the soup & everything else in the bowl!!!!=)
Lemon-ing around after a Burp-full dinner~wheee
Some weird material they used for the cock..we had to CUT it out from the opener..even then, it took uber long=S
Half-eaten cake still looking pretty huh? MUAKSSS
My bed is just too comfy..it calls out to ANYONE!HAHA
PUBQUIZ thereafter...we were asked to look after the table for this group of guys while they wet out to smoke!no, we didn't know them.
Camwhoring while getting some fresh air=)
HOW TO ACT EMO?!
It was a Starry Starry Night**
I love how spontaneous they are..& of course for tolerating all my ditzyness & endless ramblings about god-knows-what..HUGS<3
Random clicks..
During the week of the Aarhus Festival, they had this hamster-ball looking things in the river for the kids to get in & "run on water"..It was free (i think)..If only I was still a kid..Looks fun(!!!) no?
Women's Museum
Come walk in to the world dedicated to women
A pretty eerie room with clothes hanging down from the ceilings..
Don't ask me why there is an upside-down room in the Women's Museum..Maybe females in the past defy gravity?gulps..
I was the head.HAHA
They had cool spekkies then!!=P
My favourite picture, or rather the ONLY picture that made me stop in my tracks (i zoomed pass the ret=S)..& its called Maternal Joy..So some revelation of motherly instincts? hmmmmm...
The floors were creeking so much for every single step we took!!!
Random clicks continue...
Some random band we saw performing while wandering around the city.they are not too bad!!!=) stood there for a goo 30-45 minutes!!
Germany~Singapore~Belgium~Netherlands
Bazaar-Vest~ing
The choice of fruits & vegetables there is a plenty (compared to the rather pathetic range in the supermarkets here)..We went fruit-tasting trigger happy!hahaha
Super exepensive but YUMMY dates..
Just as Super exepensive but YUMMY..mangoes this time=)
I forsee oursleves going by there quite often to get our supply of fruits!! PLUS its relatively near my dorm!!!=D (actually I just went there with Bao earlier today!!haha)
Bellevue Beach
Quite lucky with the weather (again) for a trip to the beach!!
A resting spot after trudging along the pebbly-shores to get to the maibeach area..
AHHHHHH..we so deserve a good sleep=)
One thing I miss back in Singapore (besides people) is THE SUN!!! I can't get enough of it here!!!
I want to go sun-tanning!!!=(
Riya..fellow Singaporean & NUS-ian=)
I love beaches<3
Random clicks continues AGAIN.
While walking along the street during the Aarhus Festival week, we chanced upon this..A coffin-bearer gig..they were clowning around/along the street..& decided to block this van from passing..Should have seen the driver's face!!! He was seemingly pissed off when they finally gave in & allowed him to drive away!!!
I had alot of fun that night, no pictures though, cos' i deposited my bad at the counter=S Now I know why MOS in SG close down..its really not that good compared to here..
Somebody drew this outside the International Office..TOTALLY TRUE!! If you remember/read one of my earlier post of me ranting about the IO, you will get what Im driving at..haha
My very 1st wrap wrapped by myself!! Many more to feed me these few months, cos' its jus so easy to make!!! & still yummy!=P
Some dinner my floormate left me, cos' I missed Dinner Club..
Yeah, I went chocolate-milk frenzy..it was soooooo CHEAP!! & they expire only in Dec/Jan..So I stocked up for the few months to come..It was hell carrying them back!!!! BU OH-SO-WORTH-IT!!!=D

LONDON-nous

Tuesday, September 22, 2009

The London trip was our very 1st venture out of Denmark=)
We were (at least I was) excited..
Finally going to a land with FAMILIAR signs etc..ENGLISH!
I packed my bag in 20mins & off i went..
Surprisingly, my bag was the lightest of the 3!!
Later did i realise I forgot to bring a couple of things=P
[Note: My bag was the heaviest on return!!=S]
Aarhus Airport is really small & slow.
Maybe it was just our SG passport.Oh wells.

Ryanair~
It was my 1st time taking Ryanair..apparently they are (well)known to arrive on-time (to the detinations) pretty often..So when we arrived in London punctually, a tune suddenly blasted played & an annoucement was made about how they have arrived on-time again, then applaud applaud (the sound effect knd.)~~Hilarious..Bet it woke alot of sleepy-dozey people up (including me).

Shopping is number one.
The popular Oxford Street was our first stop (after checking in). We walked good 1hour plus jus to get there, imagine there was still the return journey..My legs were already aching from 1st day!! I personally feel Oxford Street is over-rated (EXCEPT Primark)..The shops are all repeated. I saw 3 Dorothy Perkins; 2 Accesorize; 3 H&M; 2 GAP; etc..& this is just what I saw..haha..but the walk was good none-the-less..Pretty buildings, nice weather=)
It is a battleground I love.
Looking at OUR loot from my picture, I guess I don't need to explain how fab Primark is=) I bought stuff for my parents&sisters there. Usually its not easy to find clothes (of their different likings & taste) in one place!~Happiness=D
Come, Peri-peri up!!
I still don't understand why..There is Nando's in SG's good-ol' neighbour (Malaysia) & also all the way in UK, BUT WHY NOT IN SINGAPORE? I missed my sloping shoulders partner so much when I was eating dinner that day..It was the same group of us (as in KL) having Peri-peri chicken in London..only she was missing. & its not the same anymore.~
I MISS YOU REY!!!

Say HI to the Iron Duke. Does the Queen ever get any peace?!
Bukingham Palace is perpectually so crowded outside, I heard..My heart goes out to the Queen..Not such a safe place afterall, I heard too=S

March on.Left Right, Left Right..
We only manage to see the last part of the Changing-of-guards..It must be dripping sweat under those furry helmets(?)..Plus the 12hours shift.SALUTE!
the HOT (literally) guard
12hours PLUS under the sun..POOR THING!!!
Taking advantage of an empty Guard-Post=P Did I see this in Night in the Museum? Admire the Admiralty! Resting place for many royalties..
One should be honoured if one's body is kept there after one leave for the other world.
Only part of it... Ta-da the other part..Too long=S Its a "post-card" background!
I was about to cross the road, when I realised that that will be a nice spot to capture London Eye & Big Ben..Later on, I saw postcard in one of the souvenir shops taken from the exact same angle!! =)
Fried Udon!!yumsssss*
Wanling was not satisfied with Wagamama, I too have no clue what's the hype about..But i surely did enjoy my lunch that day(!!), just because I was craving for some noodles!=)
HARROD-ing~a~ling~a~ling..
I was really excited to visit Harrods again, cos' I remember the last time I was there with my family, we had so much fun oohing-and-ahhing at the stuff there..Although this time, I did not feel as mesmerized as the 1st, it was still good..epecially at the toys level (not surprising!!)..Read on, you will get my idea..hehe
Breathe in the air of class
It took us quite some time to find this main escalator cos' we went in from a different extrance. Yes its THAT BIG..Two times there already, I still can't orientate myself around.
Chocolate HEAVEN!!
You don't need to know me very well, to realise that I am a diehard-madly-crazy fan of chocolate (only dark & milk ones though). Especially DARK CHOCOLATES..come to mama anytime..I had to wheeze through that area to not tempt myself..I know if I buy, I have the excuse that I cannot keep them till I return to SG, so I will most likely definitely eat them all up myself, & probably be high on chocolates for the rest of the time during exchange. Dosen't sound like a nice plan=(
Fancy a few-thousands (doll)house?
Huge-ass dollhouse is pretty to the max, down to the little details of the furniture in it..& this marks the start of the toys level I was talking about..
Be in my happily-ever-after fairytale. So what's my favourite animal again?
Yes, my love for zebras have not dwindled a single bit..As I was posing for this picture a salesgirl was laughing at me..all for zebras!!<3
Mirror, mirror, who has the biggest mouth of us all? The 2009-Harrods bear.
I want the HUGEST one..to bring home & cuddle..boo.
The laughing horse (my elder sister's words)?!ELMER!!my patchwork elphie..
It was love at first sight with this little colourful elephant when I (1st) saw my current pencilcase in the shop<3
Don't snatch his cookies, girls!! Monkeying around literally
Another photo that got me many stares & (not so)secret laughters=S
Its popular till now!
My parents bought this for us the last time we were there (about 8yrs ago?!)..It was then one of the hot-sellers..& ~8years later, its STILL one of the hot-sellers!!!
For my younger sister*
Sorry I can't afford to buy you one (just yet)..But for you I got told off by the salesman for snapping away=S
I want mails!!!!!

~End of Harrod-dy photosAppreciate any sittng moment!!
This is in some random shop along Camden Street=) I planted myself there, & it was surprisingly comfortable!!!
Discount on top of discount..
The stuff there were cheap for Aldo..Additional 30-50% off already-dicounted things!!!..But I didn't but anything..Heels were too impractical for now..& bags were too heavy (all the buckles!!!)...
Nice change from the pricey shops!!
We could have roamed there for a whole day if not for the time-constraints..Alot of different stalls & markets, very interesting..& alot of FOOD!!=D
It's watching you!!hehe The tide was high!!no? Cold&tired..but we love taking photos=)It's not falling.I got cheated!=( The bridge we were walking forever to see! BIG SMILES~ View from the Tower Bridge.. Tower up!! FREEZING!!!
Yes, I expected the weather to be as good as the previous day..so I very smartly wore that short dress..BUT it was mouth-cackling cold (from the morning!!)..Plus we walked ALOT that day..so I braved through the gusts of blardy-chilly wind throughout the entire day!!*pat on my back*
Off to Hogwarts anyone?
This is apparently the train station where Harry Potter hops on to the Hogwarts Express..
More Yellow-skinned!!
We thought we will find good bargains/variety here, so at least we could buy some close-to-home stuff/food back to Denmark..BUT I was wrong..First the place is so teeny-weeny, we finished walking Chinatown in 30mins (incl. entering a couple of stores)!! Second, the things are PRICEY!! One box of Hello Panda (the ave sized ones that are also found in SG, maybe about SGD1.70, if i don't remember wrongly) is 1.85POUNDS!!!=O As much as I was craving sooooo badly for my all-time-favourite Hello Panda, I refuse to buy them..I am still craving for them, shucks=(
Totally shouts COMFORT FOOD!
The one thing that did not disappoint me was lunching in Chinatown..We ordered a set meal with pork-belly rice & other dishes..I was not for the pork-belly rice (#1 I don't like rice. #2 I don't like pork-belly)..but for majority sick, I swallowed it..At least the taste of the sauce was good!=) BUT one dish that swept me off my feet was the pan-fried beef pancakes!! Its similar to my favourite dimsum HAM SUI GOK!! My family knows how many of those I can gobble up all myself=P So lunch that day was satisfying afterall..nomnomnom...
Books Pounders!
We found a couple of second-hand bookstores just across the road from Chinatown..I think we spent more time there than in Chinatown? hehe..
Geek loves books!
I saw quite a few books that I wanted to get (each for 1pound only!!!)..But all thanks to the 10kg baggage limit, I couldn't..So I chose only 2..& I am totally enjoying them now!!=D
Time for an explosive head!!
We decided to catch a musical & experience one of the theatres in London..I was quite for Les Miserables & Billy Elliot..But after all the walking & insufficient sleep from the previous days.Tiredness was knocking in.we agreed to watch something happy & funny (instead of classics)..So Hairspray it was..& NO-REGRETS!=D
What royalties see..
I sneaked into one of the royal-boxes (like those seats/boxes that the royal families will sit in during plays/performances in the olden days) to snap this..I figured they do get a good view, but its of the audience & not so much the stage..haha
Our house~
Pretty cool place, very convenient; clean; decent breakkie; clean sheets; uber-warm quilts; HOT showers (except for the last night)...generally made me a happy trooper=)
16 bed-der!!!
Actually it was really not as bad/overcrowded as it sounds..apart from the need to tip-toe around, whisper to one another & make minimal noise, in fear of waking anybody up!!=P I think if I can live happily there for 4 nights, anybody can!!=)
~My slumber then.
Mine is the top bunk..The 1st 2 nights, very peaceful, the guy who occupied the bottom bunk slept ALOT..but who cares, as long as it dosen't affect my beauty sleep. Then came this huge guy (Hagrid-like size) for the last 2 nights I was there..he snores quite a bit lot..Even with my poddy plugged-in & playing, I could hear him..& every single time he moved/turned around on the bed, the whole bed-frame will shake!!! He was so big that whenever he was in his bed & I climb down the rickety ladder (which usually causes the bed frame to shake much), the bed is seemingly very firm & well-rooted to the ground, It dosen't move a bit! Okay but he is a nice guy, friendly.
Where are we again?
When we see such an empty runway..Our plane being the ONLY ONE around..We know...We have returned to Aarhus=) So that marked the end of our London trip, my 2nd Wanders Wonders destination checked=)
My one-souvenir-per-place ~from London<3
Obviously I bought more than one item from London (duh!), just Primark alone, I bought 14 pieces(!!) including prezzies for my family & friends..but i decided that this t-shirt from Triad-Remade shall be my declared official souvenir from the big city..What caught my eye, was the lonely little birdy patched-sewn on the back of the (birds-filled-front) t-shirt..As I was searching the rack for a different size & less-crumpled (yes, I am THAT anal & picky) piece..I realised that all the other pieces didn't have a lonely bird at the back..Curious about the presence of the lonely bird, I started to examine the t-shirt. Only to realise that there is actually a small hole & the lonely bird was used to cover/patch it up!! For some weird reason, I liked the top even more, tried it, fit well, so I bought it without hesitation (plus it was 50% off!!)..Somehow the top reminds me of my 2nd experience in London, not as great as the first (the defect on the t-shirt), but many a thing did compensate for that tad pinch I was feeling (the patched on bird to cover the defect). FURTHERMORE my family has this whole thing going on about birds..so the front of the shirt is like the first time I was in London with all of them (many birds), & the back is like the second time in London when I was the only birdy (lame I know, but I like=P)..I know they will disagree to the whole birdy family, cos' I am apparently the (only) birdy of the family..
But if I am a bird, dosen't that make all of you birds too, since we are a family?!=P I MISS MY HAPPY FAMILY!!! All the outings, dinners, TVB/TV sessions, runs..im missing sooooo much.I MISS YOU ALL; DADDY, MUMMY, AH MA, JIEJIE, AH SUM!!!<3

That's all for London (although I have alot more to share) but you can view my full set of photos from London HERE=)

Toodles~
